Torrent Falls is a private crag containing over 30 routes nestled in a stunning horseshoe-shaped canyon that contains the gorgeous Torrent Falls waterfall, which, when flowing, is the largest waterfall in the state of Kentucky. This quiet and breathtaking area boasts some of the earliest and most iconic sport lines the Red has to offer.
Waivers & Access Considerations
Access to Torrent Falls is limited and not open all season. You must register on the day of your climb via their website: www.torrentfallsclimbing.com. If registration is full, you cannot climb at this location. You will register for your whole group, and waivers will need to be completed. Please abide by all rules found on the website, including no pets and no hammocks. Parking is provided, but there is a gate, so you must enter and exit at the respective times.

Best For
Torrent Falls is best for those looking for a self-contained vacation within the Red River Gorge. Sleep in one of the cabins, then wake up in the morning and walk out your door to be greeted by classic Red River Gorge testpieces put up by some of the pioneers of sport climbing in the area, including Porter Jarrard, Jeff Moll, and Chris Snyder. Expect pumpy, overhung climbing on featured rock, with grades that may feel stiff by modern standards.
