Cathedral Domain can be a wonderful climbing area if you’re looking to escape the crowds of the Red River Gorge hot spots. Cathedral Domain contains about 300 climbing routes across 800 acres within the Episcopal Camp & Retreat Center. This retreat is located about 30 minutes from Miguel’s, or, if you’re staying near the PMRP/BRRP area, it should only be a few minutes away. In addition to the multiple climbing crags, which are generally smaller cliffs than the Red River Gorge proper, you’ll find over 10 miles of trails, making this quaint area great for kids or newer climbers.
